  Kids warned about 'killer sweets'
Updated 15 December 2001, 11.20
A choking warning has been issued over mini cup jelly sweets
Children and parents are being warned about 'killer sweets' which have caused some kids to choke.

Mini cup fruit jelly sweets are the latest craze, but they have already led to the deaths of several children around the world.

No one in the UK has yet died from eating the sweets.

'Suck' the jelly out

The sweets are jellies which come in little rounded, sealed packs and are often sold in corner shops. They come in different fruity flavours.

The problem is that kids like to 'suck' the jelly out and they can accidentally inhale the sweet, which can make them choke.

A food watchdog, the Food Standards Agency, says it thinks children should avoid the sweets, which can be called ABC Mini Fruit Bites, New Choice Mini Fruit Gels or Rolin Mango Jelly Cup.
