  Kids want presents costing 200
Updated 12 December 2001, 15.28

It seems that you're a pretty demanding bunch when it comes to Christmas this year!

British children are asking for presents worth around 200, according to a new survey done in UK primary schools.

Fact File
Top 10 toys
1 Playstation 2
2 Gameboy Advance (plus 5 games!)
3 Nokia 3310
4 Harry Potter lego
5 Harry Potter computer game
6 Top five PlayStation games
7 Microsoft Xbox
8 Anything Harry Potter
9 Anything Pokemon
10 Fifa 2002 PS2 game
Top of the wish list is a Playstation 2, which retails at 199 - and none of the next three cost less than 129.

Nearly 3bn!

Overall, search company Ask Jeeves, who conducted the research, estimate that UK parents face a total shopping bill of nearly 3 billion.

And according to another survey, there's a half-decent chance that you'll get it: a quarter of parents have promised to spend 400 on presents per child this Christmas.

You want gadgets not toys

Gadget: in?
Gadget: in?
The findings back up another recent report, which suggested that most of you don't want 'traditional toys' anymore, and instead crave gadgets like computer games and DVDs.

However, one classic 'toy' did make it into the new top 10 - but even that didn't make life for your parents any easier.

It's the Hogwarts Lego - which most shops have already sold out of!

You can vote on both your favourite toy and whether you think gadgets or traditional toys are in by going to the link on the right!t!
