  Children take more term-time holidays
Updated 04 October 2001, 13.28
Term-time holidays
Mums and dads are taking their children out of school during term-time, just so they can go on holiday when it's cheaper, research says.

The price of a holiday changes depending on what time of year you take it, and it's usually cheaper to have a holiday during term-time.

Five term year

At the moment, parents are not allowed to take their children out of school for more than 10 days in a school year.

But parents are saying that they want to have a chance to take their children on holiday at times when it is cheaper for them.

Parents say that they'd be able to do this if the school year was split into five terms instead of three.

But what do you think? Do you think your parents should have the right to make you miss school so they can pay less for holidays?

Do you feel you miss out if you take a holiday during term-time?
