Speaking at a conference to promote the third Harry Potter film, Prisoner of Azkaban, he said: "I've always had the suspicion that he might die.

"Harry and Voldemort have the same core. The only way Voldemort could die is if Harry dies at well."

But of course, the ending of the final Potter book is a well guarded secret.

But author JK Rowling herself has hinted that Harry might be killed off.

When asked whether she would write more books about Harry's life after Hogwarts she replied: "You have to wait and see whether he survives to be a grown-up."
