The episode sees him in his trademark high trousers, get punched by Homer Simpson after delivering some of the put-downs he's so famous for.

He stars as a boss who has to audition baby Maggie for a place in a well-known local nursery.

At a screening of the show, which will be on Sky One on Sunday, Simon said he was "very proud" to be part of it.

"It's genuinely my favourite programme. When I got the telephone call I thought it was a wind-up but it was true," he said.

"It was the most intimidating thing I have ever done in my life. I only had one condition - make me handsome and make me young - as you can see that's been achieved."
