Rachel films a report for Newsround

I spent the morning trying to get all my pieces to camera filmed; rushing from the beach full of sunbathers to the Palais, where the movies are shown, up to the Croisette, where very suntanned ladies carry tiny dogs in their handbags, and back to the beach again.

But we finally got it all done and, with sunburnt shoulders, I jumped on a bus with a crowd of other journalists heading for one of the most exclusive hotels on the Riviera - the Hotel Du Cap - to interview the cast of Shrek 2.

They show films on the beach!

I had a lot of fun interviewing the stars; Cameron Diaz and Mike Myers were really friendly, but Eddie Murphy, who does the voice of Donkey, seemed pretty tired.

It's not surprising - the interviews were five minutes long and the cast had to do about 30 interviews each, with most of the journalists asking them the same questions over and over again.

At the end of the interviews I had to send all my footage back to BBC Television Centre in London via a satellite feed.

The office I sent them from was on the third floor of a building opposite the Palais. Just before I sat down to start the feed I heard loads of clapping and shouting outside and ran out on to the balcony to see Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Orlando Bloom on the red carpet beneath us!

It was definitely the most exciting story I've ever covered for Newsround.
