  Marge to give Christmas message
Updated 29 September 2004, 14.35
The Simpsons
Marge Simpson will take on the Queen when she delivers an alternative message to the UK this Christmas.

The blue-haired cartoon character will make her broadcast from Springfield, and is expected to talk about the importance of families getting on.

Marge's 10-minute message will be shown on Channel 4 at 3pm on Christmas Day; the same time the Queen delivers her annual message on BBC1 and ITV.

Other celebs who have made the speech include Ali G and Sharon Osbourne.

The BBC used to broadcast The Simpsons on ordinary television, but from November the show will be on Channel 4 instead.
