Shaun the Sheep flocking to CBBC
Updated 23 September 2004, 17.46

Shaun the Sheep is coming to television
One of the stars of the Wallace and Gromit films, Shaun the Sheep, is getting his own programme on CBBC.

Shaun stole the show when he appeared in the film A Close Shave with Wallace and Gromit and now TV viewers will get the chance to see some of his pals too.

But you'll have to wait to catch the first episode as Shaun isn't going to hit your screens until 2006.

Episodes lined up for the 40-part series on the CBBC channel will include sychronised swimming in a sheep dip.

The wait for the show is because it takes a long time to make each episode because of the way it is made.

The company behind Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep are called Aardman Animations and they make their films using plasticine models.

The models have to be moved by hand for every single frame of the shows, and with 24 frames for every second you see on screen, it can take ages to finish an episode.
