So much so that the Rev Robin Spittle is planning on using the famous family for a series of evening classes.

He thinks people can learn from the Simpson family, especially as they are regular church goers on the show.

The rev doesn't always think decisions the characters make are the right ones, but thinks they're great for lessons.

Mr Spittle said he did not have a favourite character but admired different things in each of them.

"I like Lisa because she stands up for her principles; I like the simplicity of Homer's lifestyle; Marge is committed to her family, and Bart is full of spirit."

He is also taking classes at Kesgrave High School on the meaning of Easter within the blockbuster films Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
