The Return of the King, the final Lord of the Rings film, will be released on DVD three months earlier than expected.
The movie, which scooped a record 11 Oscars at the Academy Awards in February, will come out on video and DVD on 25 May, producers New Line said.
The other two films, out in 2001 and 2002, were released in August.
An extended version of ROTK with added scenes will be released later in 2004. That will make the extended trilogy around a bum-numbing 11 hours long!
