  Hobbit trailer excites Rings fans

 Ian Holm played Bilbo in the Rings trilogy
A trailer for a film version of The Hobbit that has got many Rings fans excited has been created by a fan.

US fan Steve Latham wants to work in the film industry, so he cut together a trailer for an imaginary film to show off his talents.

He used bits of The Fellowship of the Ring and an old film called Dragonslayer and mixed them together.

He even gave it a release date - 19 December 2006 - and used the same style of text as the current Rings trilogy.

The trailer does look and sound really good, although having no words in it is a bit of giveaway that it's not real.

With the amount of money the Rings films have made, it is likely that we'll see a film of The Hobbit one day - but perhaps not as early as 2006.
