Andy's award for Best British Actor was remarkable because he plays a computer-generated character - Gollum.

Andy had been tipped for an Oscar nomination. He didn't get one in the end, but this helped to make up for it. He said he was "very happy".

LOTR picked up Best Film for the third year running for the final movie in the trilogy, Return Of The King.

Other winners included Pirates Of The Caribbean star Johnny Depp, who was named Best Actor.
