The final film of the Lord of the Rings trilogy is being shown in two halves by one UK cinema, Warner Village.
A note on their website tells people booking tickets that there is a 15-minute interval during the film.
No other cinemas are doing the same with the Return of the King, which is three hours and 20 minutes long.
A spokesperson told Empire Online: "it's getting on for four hours and that's a long time to ask people to sit without any sort of break."
