Popstars reject Javine has told Newsround Showbiz that she's happy she didn't make it into Girls Aloud.
"Musically it's not my thing. I love it and I think they're great but I just wouldn't be happy in the group now."
Although she only just missed out on being a member of the specially created girl band, she prefers being a solo artist.
"I get to be really creative and write my own music and [there's] no one telling what to say or do or wear.
"I'm 100 per cent me which feels good," she said.
Second single pressure
Her first single Real Thing reached number four in the charts and Javine knows her new single Surrender could decide the future of her career.
"This second one is that little more pressure," said Javine.
