Elijah, who plays Hobbit Frodo, was inspired by the music scene in New York, and decided he wanted to help new artists get a start in the business.

He also got together with the actors who played Merry and Pippin.

He said: "Dom Monaghan, Billy Boyd and I went into the studio and played music on Viggo's new album. It's amazing."

Viggo Mortensen, who plays Aragorn, has made several jazz albums as well as being a published poet.
