Rumours on the web have linked New Zealand-based effects house WETA to the project, which is set to include all seven of CS Lewis' books.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the first book to be filmed, should be out in summer 2004.
The book was first published in 1950, and has been made into a BBC TV series.
US company Walden Media are making the films, and they have a member of Lewis' family working with them to make sure they get things right.
They've also said that they want to use a real lion for the part of Aslan.
Considering he has to talk, it'll need to be a very well trained lion!
