  Alex wins Fame Academy!

 Alex is the winner of Fame Academy
Alex, the talented teenager from Cornwall, has won Fame Academy.

The 19-year-old singer beat fellow finalist Alistair, and can now look forward to fame, fortune and that all important £1 million record contract!

Alex put her own distinctive style into John Lennon's classic song Imagine, as well as performing one of her own tracks.

She told Newsround: "I was absolutely overwhelmed, I was worried my voice wouldn't come out.

"Hopefully winning won't go to my head!"

More than 4.5 million people voted in the final TV show on Saturday night.

After finding out the result Alistair put on a brave face:

"It's disappointing coming second, but I feel pretty good to be honest

"Alex was brilliant, I take my hat off to her."

In the first half of the final show, Carolynne received the least votes and came third.

The rock chick put in a feisty performance, belting out two strong songs, but it wasn't enough to keep her in the contest.

She told presenter Cat Deeley bravely: "I'm fine - nothing's going to bring me down!"
