Goblet of Fire hopefuls can apply from 2004
Updated 28 July 2003, 16.43
Harry Potter stars filming in Scotland
Do you want to be an extra in the fourth Harry Potter film, the Goblet of Fire?

Stupid question really!

Well, you might be in luck because you can write to the casting office from January 2004.

The casting office has confirmed to CBBC Newsround that kids can write to them from that date - but not before - otherwise your letter won't get read!

It's not the official start of casting as they're all very busy still filming Prisoner of Azkaban.

But in the new year, that should all be wrapped up and Warner Brothers can start thinking about Goblet.

Of course they can't promise anything to anyone and it's really tough competition.

Warners don't want kids to be disappointed by writing now and getting nowhere.

Time's run out for Azkaban

Meanwhile, Phoebe from the Warner Brothers casting office, told us:

"Casting for the third film, the Prisoner of Azkaban, has now officially closed, so don't keep writing for that one.

They've got everyone they need for Azkaban. If they want to apply for Goblet they can try from January."

And they quoshed newspaper rumours that Cho Chang might be played by Michelle Ang - Lori in Neighbours.

But Vanessa from the casting office told us:

"That's rubbish! Every week there's a different rumour - I don't know where they get them from.

"I can tell you no one's been cast at all for Goblet of Fire."

So now you know! Good luck!
