  LOTR exhibition demand shocks organisers
Updated 08 July 2003, 15.19

The Lord of the Rings exhibition will be full of props and costumes
Organisers of a new Lord of the Rings exhibition are shocked by the huge demand for tickets.

A spokesman for London's Science Museum, where The Lord of The Rings Motion Picture Trilogy: The Exhibition will take place, said they were "completely bowled over" by the response.

So many people phoned in that staff at the Science Museum were simply taking the name and number of people who wanted tickets, and getting back to them.

This problem has been fixed now, and the phone lines are working normally.

Full-size cave trolls

The exhibition opens on here on 16 September, having already featured in an exhibition in Wellington, New Zealand.

It has tons of props, costumes and weapons from the three films, like full-size cave trolls and models used in the movies.

Rings fans will be able to see the exhibition at the same time as the final part of the trilogy, Return of the King, which is out in British cinemas on 17 December.

The three movies, which took 18 months to film, are the biggest film project ever.
