Fame Academy back for a second series
Updated 02 May 2003, 15.07
Fame Academy David Sneddon
Fame Academy will be back for a second series later in the year.

The talent show was won by David Sneddon last year who has since managed a number one hit!

And the other runner-ups, Sinead, Lemar and Ainslie have all bagged big record deals after the show too.

So auditions for the second series are set to be huge with a prize of a luxury celebrity lifestyle for a year and record deal up for grabs.

The first auditions are in Belfast on 17 May but wannabes aged 18 to 35 will get a chance to sing for a place in the mansion all across the country.

The lucky students picked for the show will be coached by music teachers and star guests. But don't forget, they'll have to face the public vote too every week.

Fund for the young

About 1 million of the money made from record sales and 14 million phone votes was put into a special fund to help struggling young musicians last year.

Cash made from this year's show will also go into the pot to give thousands the chance of success.
