  Rings music voted a classical hit

Rings music is a fave with classical fans
Fans of classical music have picked the soundtrack to the Lord of the Rings as one their faves.

The music from the film was voted the ninth most popular piece of all time in radio station Classic FM's Hall of Fame.

The music for the Rings trilogy was composed by a Canadian man called Howard Shore, and last year was number 122 in the top 300.

Other film soundtracks also made it into the chart, with Harry Potter music written by John Williams in at number 57.

Three other Williams' composed pieces also got loads of votes, with Star Wars at number 102 in the chart voted for by more than 250,000 Classic FM listeners.

At the top of the chart is a piece of music called Piano Concerto No 2 in C minor, by a composer called Rachmaninov.
