His finger started to swell up so his dad ended up taking Joel to the local fire station where firefighters cut the ring off.

But just in case they get any ideas Mr Withey said:
"We've kept Joel's ring in a jar to show to his girlfriends and embarrass him when he grows up."
That never happened in the film!
