Filming for Harry Potter 3 set for Scotland
Updated 20 December 2002, 20.21
Harry Potter
Scenes for the next Harry Potter movie may be filmed at Glencoe in Scotland.

The people making the film, Warner Bros, have asked for permission to build a set for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Other locations in the West Highlands have already been used in the first two Potter films, so it is likely that the filmmakers will be allowed to shoot there.

The areas that feature in the films have seen a big rise in the number of tourists choosing to visit there since starring in the Philosopher's Stone and the Chamber of Secrets.

They've asked to build a gatehouse, sundial garden and stone cottages that will be used by the crew in February, March and April in 2003.

New director to take the helm

The third film in the Harry Potter series is the first to be directed by Mexican Alfonso Cuaron and is due to hit cinemas in 2004.
