The reaction

The fans have not been pleased! One poster on our Buffy board, Ilúvatar, said: "Loads of stuff is missed out."

Another fan on the BBC's Buffy board posted: "I think it's terrible, that ... the finest hour of televsion has been cut by the obviously ignorant BBC2."

One poster, named ihatethebbc, simply said "Well done BBC for ruining a perfectly good episode of Buffy".

The reponse

The bit of the BBC responsible for Buffy told us that they apologised for the confusion caused by their previous promise.

The version of the show they played out was the one given to the BBC by Fox, known as the Official International Version.

The longer version was shown once on Sky One, but isn't now available to show on TV here.

However, it is available in the UK on video.
