David: I'll go to university if pop career fails
Updated 16 December 2002, 18.59
David
Fame Academy winner David Sneddon says he'll go to university if his career as a pop star doesn't work out.

He landed a 1 million record deal and a year of living in luxury when he won the reality talent show last week.

But he reckons he'll not end up like another reality TV pop act - Hear'Say - who split earlier this year.

Rotten veg

David
"I'm very aware at the moment of how sceptical people will be about this, " he told the BBC Breakfast programme.

"I'm aware of what happened to Hear'Say - but the thing is I'm writing my own album, it's all me."

He added: "After a year, if it all fails I'll go to university and people will say 'you're that bloke from Fame Academy' and throw rotten vegetables at me. But at least I'll have got a degree!"

Potter part?

David told our entertainment show Newsround Lite that he'd heard rumours that part of his prize might be a cameo role in the next Harry Potter movie.

"I know some people might say you're a 24-year-old man. JK's great. Haven't seen the second film yet. I have to admit that I've got my fingers crossed. It's just a rumour. I have no idea."
