Lemar's out: hugs all round

He won the final sing-off against Sinead, after the public expelled soul-man Lemar earlier in the evening.

During the show, dance coach Kevin said Lemar had showed the public he was not just "Mr Cool" this week - but voters weren't convince.

That left Celtic duo Sinead and David to sing head-to-head for the ultimate prize.

Nearly seven million people voted in sing-off and it was close! David - who was Naomi's replacement in the second week - won 3.5 million of those votes.

Proud

During the first part of Friday night's final showdown, the three had to sing tunes they'd performed earlier in the series.

Then they performed the songs they had each written themselves during their 10 weeks.

And the teachers were very proud of all their students.

Head Teacher Park said was really pleased with David: "We've just seen David give an incredible performance."

All agreed he had come on so much and had really grown up since coming into the Academy.

So, Friday night is the first night of David's new year with a £1m record deal, a luxury flat and celebrity lifestyle. Stop Living A Lie will be David's first single, out in January.
