They reckoned her version of Madonna's Papa Don't Preach was better than Nigel's go at Heard It Through The Grapevine by Marvin Gaye.
The other probation student, Malachi, was the winner of the public vote when he sang Vincent by Don McLean and grabbed 41% of the votes.
The teachers had to put a student up for nomination this week on the live show, and had to choose between the four former A-grade students still in the Academy.
They went for David, despite his cracking version of Goodnight Girl by Wet Wet Wet.
