Warner Bros, who made the film, say the total is over £1m more than the previews of the Philosopher's Stone, which held the previous UK preview record.

That went on to make a whopping £58m overall in the UK. Experts think COS could now easily top that.

Preview screenings a week before the official release are becoming more and more popular as a way of building up massive hype before a film opens.

Warner Cinemas said 255,000 tickets were sold for the screenings on 8, 9 and 10 November.

When the film does go on general release it'll be hard to avoid, with Odeon Cinemas showing it an amazing 228 of its 587 screens across the country.
