Neighbours fans fight to keep Rev Rosie
Updated 15 October 2002, 11.50
Fans want to keep Rev Rosie in Neighbours
Fans of Neighbours have started a huge campaign to keep Reverend Rosie in the show.

The producers have told actress Maggie Millar, who plays Rosie, that she's not coming back when her contract runs out in November this year.

Maggie's really upset about this - and so are the fans!

Love triangle

There was a similar campaign to save Lou, played by Tom Oliver
More than 700 people have written to her website, backing a campaign to keep her in the soap.

Fans reckon it's important to keep a mix of young and old characters in the show. Rev Rosie's been popular since she joined Neighbours last year, and caused a love triangle between old pals Lou and Harold.

Coincidentally, fans launched a similar campaign to "Bring back Lou" when actor Tom Oliver was axed from the show a few years ago.

Phenomenal

Australian Barry Campbell, who runs Maggie's internet fan site, told CBBC Newsround Online:

"The response from fans has been phenomenal. The majority want Maggie to stay," he said.

"I'm quite sure that there has never been such a massive campaign to save any character in a soap!"
