But the teachers weren't happy.
They said the contestants were flat and that they'd only give them 15 out of 100 if they had to rate them.
"The singing was dreadful," said straight-talking vocal coach Carrie Grant. "I'm a vocal coach, not a miracle worker.
"They need to be absolutely ruthless and think, 'I'm not here for mum and dad, I'm here for millions of people watching at home'".
Even the students themselves weren't too impressed. Lots of them were worried about their voices and how big their features looked on TV.
But the 12 students, still on a high from Friday night's glitzy launch show, tried to stay upbeat.
They've all been trying really hard in their singing lessons and are still really enthusiastic.
