According to music magazine Billboard it would involve winners from different countries competing against each other.

It was Will's manager Simon Fuller who came up with the idea for Pop Idol.
The mag reports he's now planning to launch World Idol.
Viewers from around the world could vote for their favourite.
Pop Idol's already a huge hit in Poland and South Africa as well as the UK and Germany and France will get their own versions soon.
