Already millionaires

The fuss was about two teenage twins who are something of a phenomenon.

Not yet 16 years of age, they are already millionaires with a huge fan base - they are of course Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

They were in the UK to promote their Mary-Kate and Ashley brand, which includes a range of clothing now on sale at Asda stores.

Once inside the venue, I took my place with some 200 people to await the arrival of the teenage stars.

Every inch the stars

They arrived bang on time, wearing matching fitted black and bronze pinstripe suits. Each wore a silver necklace with three diamond drops, and black pointed shoes.

They looked every inch the stars they are as they were ushered up to the podium for the speeches.

On TV at nine months old

Taking everything in their stride - and why shouldn't they, they first appeared on the TV at age nine months, they said they were happy to be back in London and were very excited about the range of clothing bearing their name.

The girls apologised for not being able to talk to everyone individually, but did give answers to questions they're often asked. We were left to guess what the questions were.

The answers they gave included:

- Yes
- No
- Too personal
- Oasis and Moby
- David Beckham

After the speeches the girls mixed with the crowd.

Polite and very smiley

I was lucky to grab a few moments with Ashley, who I have to say was charming.

She was polite, very smiley and amazingly, not affected by her celebrity status.

She was also a lot smaller than I would have imagined but still very grown-up in her specially designed suit.

As another superstar's song says "not a girl, not yet a woman".
