  Rings heads up MTV movie nominations

Fellowship of the Rings
Lord of the Rings has been nominated for six MTV Movie awards, more than any other film.

Rings missed out on the major Oscars but could shine this time as The Fellowship Of The Ring is up for best picture.

Elijah Wood is up for best male performance for his performance as Frodo Baggins.

Christopher Lee could win the best villain award and the film is also up for best action sequence and best fight.

Rings v Potter

Daniel Radcliffe: up for an award
And Orlando Bloom - Legolas - is nominated for male breakthrough performance.

But there'll be stiff competition from Daniel Radcliffe's performance in Harry Potter, up for the same prize.

Green cartoon monster Shrek is up for three awards including best comedy performance for Eddie Murphy, the donkey's voice.

The awards take place on 6 June at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
