Speaking to the FilmFour website, McGregor said Attack of the Clones is much funnier than the Episode I, and much more like the original trilogy.
McGregor has never claimed to be a fan of the way the films are made, with lots of the characters and sets added in later by computers, but this is the first time he has attacked the film in public.
We see the new film first
Episode II opens on 16 May in the UK, the same say as America, and because of the time difference between the two countries British fans will get to see the movie before those in the US.
That's because certain cinemas are showing the movie at one minute past midnight.
