The Fellowship of the Ring has now slipped to third place, but is still set to be one of the most successful films ever.
It's now raked in a mammoth £167m ($240m) in the US and Canada alone.
Meanwhile, its magical rival Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - as it's known in the US - has conjured up £216m ($310m) there, making it the ninth biggest film in US movie history.
But the two films have not lost their magic in the UK. The Fellowship of the Ring is number one with Harry Potter a close second in the UK box office chart.t.
