  Buffy fans angry at cuts
Updated 16 January 2002, 19.13
Buffy
Fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer are sinking their fangs into Sky One after cuts were made to the first episode of the new series.

Giles
More than 200 people have signed a petition asking the channel not to axe scenes from the sixth series, which started last Thursday.

The new series, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, is shown at 8pm on Thursdays and repeated on Saturdays at 5pm.

Gory stuff

The new series is said to be darker and more gruesome than before. Some scenes are cut so it can be shown earlier in the evening.

Dawn and Buffy
Sky One says more cuts might be made in future as it wants the majority of Buffy fans to see it.

In the petition to Sky One, fans are asking the channel to show the series as the programme's creator Joss Whedon intended.
