  Shrek breaks DVD record
Updated 08 January 2002, 19.55

He may be green, smelly and moody, but it seems more of you want him in your homes than anything else!

Shrek, the star of his own movie fairytale, has sold more than 10 million copies on DVD around the world in the last two months - a new record.

In total, combining cinema tickets and DVD and VHS sales, the film has made 619m ($892m) for its studio, Dreamworks.

That's more money than some film studios make on all their films in a year!

Shrek 2

A sequel to Shrek is already in production, featuring stars Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy.

Good news for Shrek lovers, but bad news for Shrek himself.

The green ogre, who made it clear he wanted to be left alone, still won't get his wish!!
