  EastEnders clean up at soap awards

Steve Owen in action on EastEnders
EastEnders came out sparkling clean as it picked up eight prizes at a magazine soap awards ceremony on Monday night.

The awards included Best Soap and Best Actor for Martin Kemp who plays slithery Steve Owen, and a Lifetime Achievement Award for Barbara Windsor who plays Peggy Mitchell.

Corrie's Tracey Shaw
The Corrie cast also got in a lather when Tracey Shaw, who plays Maxine Peacock, won Sexiest Soap Actress.

Neighbours, Hollyoaks, Brookside and Emmerdale all won an award each. Hollyoaks' Joanna Taylor, who plays Geri Hudson, bagged the Best Dressed star.
