Frances Jones
Frances Jones lives within the travelling community, a community which continues to face discrimination in the UK.
With no formal education and the additional complication of dyslexia, Frances made a decision to attend the Hereford College of Art and Design.
During her time at college she has made an impressive impact upon her peers and teachers, engaging herself in all aspects of college life and even representing her fellow students on the board of governors.
What so impressed the judges was her determination to go against the norm to pursue her own personal dreams, and the misconceptions of her peers at the college.
She has seized an opportunity to extend the options available to her and made a valuable link which promotes understanding between different groups in our society.
