Learning aims
  • Develop proofreading skills with punctuation

  • Children make own corrections

Introduction
Read through with the class:

Make the corrections with the class for the mistakes in punctuation.

Compare the class' version with the original story:

A girl on her mobile

Main activity
Children proofread the worksheet:

Students make corrections to its punctuation.

Extension activity
Children adapt a chosen news story to include errors for a partner to proofread.

Plenary
Children present their corrected versions for comparison with the CBBC Newsround originals.
