  Millions raised by Sport Relief
Updated 11 July 2004, 11.56
Wills with TV's Patrick Kielty
Royal runner Prince William was among 81,000 people who took part in the first ever Sport Relief mile to help raise 11m to tackle world poverty.

William was a surprise guest at an event in London. He finished in 6m 10 seconds, cheered on by brother Harry.

Around 150 sponsored runs were held across the UK. They were followed by five hours of special BBC One shows.

The BBC reckons the final total will be a lot more than 11m when all the sponsor money has been collected.

Other celebrity runners included singer Rachel Stevens, chef Gordon Ramsay and Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Rachel said: "Everyone's really got into the spirit of the event.

"I think everyone up and down the UK who has taken part in Sport Relief should give themselves a big pat on the back."
