Euro 2004: Late winner for Greece
Updated 01 July 2004, 22.02
Greece are in the final of Euro 2004
Greece upset the Czech Republic to win a place in the final of Euro 2004 with a silver goal earning a 1-0 win.

They will play Portugal in the final, which bizarrely is a repeat of the very first game of the tournament, when Greece beat the hosts 2-1 on 12 June.

Traianos Dellas's headed silver goal in the final seconds of the first half of extra time, sent Greece through.

Silver goal means if a team scores in the first half of extra time, the other team only has until half-time to level.

Since there were only seconds left in that first half, the Czech Republic had no time to equalise.

Neither side had really impressed during normal time and there were few chances.

The Czech Republic were dealt a big blow in the first half when their skipper and top midfielder Pavel Nedved went off injured.
