Euro 2004: Portugal in the final
Updated 30 June 2004, 21.36
Ronaldo scores for Portugal
A spectacular goal from Maniche sent Portugal into the final of Euro 2004 after beating Holland 2-1.

The midfielder picked up the ball from a corner on the left and curled a stunning shot into the top corner.

That goal came after Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo scored an opener for the home side, rising unmarked to head in a corner.

The Dutch were given a goal back when Jorge Andrade scored an own goal, but Portugal held on for a deserved win.

They were much the better team until Andrade put the ball into his own net, after which Holland started to play.

They had a lot of the ball in the later stages, and had they played like that earlier in the match things might have been different.

But Portugal had put more effort into getting forward in the first half, and earned their place in Sunday's final.
