Who is your athletics hero?

My main hero is Cathy Freedman - after seeing her win the Sydney Olympics for the 400 metres four years ago. After watching her I wanted to go to Athens.

Are you nervous or excited about Athens?

I'm EXTREMELY nervous about going to Athens. But obviously I'm excited too. It's going to be my first Olympics. I've competed in the World championships last year in Paris and the Commonwealth championships where we won a bronze medal for the 4 by 100 metres relay. I'm really excited about Athens - but I'm trying not to think about it - I'm just trying to qualify!

		Get into the blocks and remember your head position - keep it down and listen hard for the gun!
		Check your arms - keep them fast and keep your knees high
		At the end of the race just try to get across the line first!

What's the best thing about running the 100 metres and the 200 metres?

For me the best thing is getting paid to do something you love doing! I'm also motivated by the fact I could possibly win a medal - maybe not in this Olympics but in Beijing in 2008.

What do you think about when you are running?

When I'm running I usually can't remember what I've done in a race - I'm so focused - all I'm thinking about is getting to the finish line first. You can remember getting out the blocks and then just the finish!

The final line up of Team GB will be fixed by July 19 and is expected to include 65 men and women.
