  Lampard gets England number boost
Updated 02 June 2004, 20.29
Frank Lampard looks like starting for England
England coach Sven Goran Eriksson made no changes to his squad for Euro 2004 when he officially announced it.

The 23-man squad was revealed last month but the official Uefa deadline for it was Tuesday 2 June.

The squad numbers for the players were also revealed, suggesting Frank Lampard will be in midfield with David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes.

Lampard has been given the number 11 shirt while his main rival for that midfield spot, Nicky Butt has 17.

That doesn't mean Lampard will definitely start, but the other 10 players expected to be in the starting line up all have numbers from one to 10.

That suggests Lampard will be the 11th player who will start England's first game on Sunday 13 June.

Aston Villa striker Darius Vassell keeps his place in the 23, so must have fully recovered from the injury that threatened his spot in the squad.
