  F1: Schumacher takes pole again
Updated 29 May 2004, 14.13
Michael Schumacher is on pole position
Michael Schumacher will start the European Grand Prix in Germany on Pole Position after qualifying fastest.

The world champion edged BAR driver Takuma Sato into second place, almost a second ahead of team-mate Jenson Button back in fifth place on the grid.

Monaco winner Jarno Trulli will start from third and McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen qualified fourth fastest.

It was another bad day for David Coulthard, who had to change his engine so will start at the back of the grid.

The way qualifying works at the moment is set to change again soon, perhaps in time for the British Grand Prix.

At the moment drivers only get one qualifying lap and one pre-qualifying lap to earn a good starting position.

The new plans would see two 20-minute sessions, with drivers having a set number of laps with which to achieve a speedy qualifying time.
