  Premiership: Charlton earn point
Updated 17 October 2004, 18.12
Craig Bellamy headed Newcastle in front
An own-goal handed Charlton Athletic a point at home to Newcastle, cancelling out an opener from Craig Bellamy.

Andy O'Brien was trying to clear the ball after some brilliant work from Kevin Lisbie but only succeeded in turning it into his own net.

Charlton could have snatched a winner when Dennis Rommedahl hit the bar and Matt Holland struck the post.

But Alan Shearer also went close, with an effort kept off the line following a series of Newcastle corners.

It was a hard-fought game in difficult weather conditions and both sides deserved a point.
