  Thousands cheer on Olympic rowers
Updated 17 October 2004, 15.24
British rowers did well in Athens
Great Britain's Olympic rowing team have been celebrating their success in Athens with an unusual parade.

They braved the wind and cold weather to take part in a "row-past" through Henley-on-Thames, in front of around 4,000 fans cheering them on.

Four-time gold medallist Matthew Pinsent said he had not decided if he would row on in Beijing in 2008.

The rowers will join many other British Olympic and Paralympic athletes in a parade through London on Monday.

There has been lots of speculation about whether Pinsent will carry on for four more years.

Were he to win gold again at the next Olympics Pinsent would equal the five Olympic gold medals won by his former rowing partner Sir Steven Redgrave.

Pinsent told a crowd in Henley: "On behalf of the rowers, I'd like to thank you very much for coming out to see us home."

He also led three cheers for "those of us, or those of them, who are going forward to Beijing, whichever it may be".
