F1: Button in second for Monaco
Updated 22 May 2004, 15.02
Jarno Trulli
Brit Jenson Button has qualified in second place for Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix, behind Jarno Trulli.

Trulli claimed the first pole position of his Formula One career, with a scorching lap of 13.985 in his Renault, just edging out Button's BAR.

Michael Schumacher could only earn a below-par fourth place on the starting grid, after a messy pre-qualifying lap.

With Monaco being famously hard to overtake on, Button looks set for another podium finish on Sunday.

Ralf Schumacher actually clocked the second best time of the session.

But because he was forced to change engines on Thursday, he was demoted 10 places to 12th.
