  Olympics bosses inspect host city
Updated 10 May 2004, 13.51
The main stadium isn't finished yet
Olympics chiefs are visiting Athens to make sure the city is winning its race against time to host the event.

The games are set to start in the Greek capital on 13 August. New facilities are being built for the event but there have been loads of delays.

International Olympic Committee (IOC) officials are checking out the progress which has been made on the facilities.

To mark their visit, roof arches were being put on the Olympic stadium in a bid to prove the city will be ready.

The roof was expected to be in place by the end of April, but delays have held up work on the stadium.

Confident

In addition to the sporting venues, new public transport systems - including a rail link from the airport - have to be finished.

The IOC says it's confident the games will be a success, but there is still a massive amount of work to do.
